Migraines Vary in Presentation-Diagnosis Can Be Difficult

There is a spectrum of migraine presentations. On one end of the spectrum, there is Give me a barf bag and quiet, dark room in which to lie down, and I will try to live through it. This is most doctors idea of a migraine, and also, most patients idea. On the other end of the spectrum, there are no migraines. In the middle, there are tension headaches, neckaches, and sinus pain. In between give me a barf bag and tension pain, there are migraine-like pain and milder migraines. If someone frequently presents with give me a barf bag type migraines, then either the body is more sensitive than someone having fewer or no migraines, or the risk factors for migraine are out of control, or both the body is more sensitive and the risk factors are out of control. If someone presents primarily with tension pain, then the body is less sensitive, and/or the risk factors are more controlled.

Migraines are thought of as interruptions in normal neurological functions manifested by episodes of headaches. At least 20% of migraineurs (people who suffer from migraines) meeting the International Headache Society (IHS) criteria have changed the pattern from episodes of migraine into patterns of chronic headache. Chronic headache often does not return to normal neurological function. This evolving process from episodic headache to chronic headache is called transformation. In the population segment of chronic daily headache, migraine appears to be a progressive neurological disease. The decline of normal neurological function between episodes of migraine greatly exacerbates the migraine syndrome. The migraine syndrome is the outward expression of the bodys sensitivity to light, sound, smell, food, and/or stress, and presents as migraines, sinus or neck pain, palpitations, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), vertigo, hypoglycemia, temporomandibular joint syndrome (TMJ), panic attacks, and/or fibromyalgia. The varying presentations of the bodys sensitivity further complicate the clinical picture. Some doctors either do not understand the connection of presentations, or specialize their focus and are unable to see the total patient picture. Some patients either dismiss symptoms as not being relevant to their main complaint for seeing the doctor, or have given up trying to seek answers for their other problems.

Considering migraine in phases allows for consideration of the dynamic nature of an acute episode of migraine. The IHS criteria for migraines only consider the headache phase which is excellent for research purposes. However, migraine symptoms vary in presentation both in individual attacks and in different patients. To explain the broad spectrum more completely, the Convergence Hypothesis was developed. It connects the observed symptoms with the underlying abnormal neurological functions and makes allowance for varying presentations of migraines. It explains the different phases of the migraine and their relationships. The prodrome phase represents changes in the normal balance of brain processing. This beginning phase has symptoms that herald the coming migraine. The aura phase represents the electrical discharge over a sensory portion of the brain and the resulting effects are seen, smelt, or felt. In the headache phase, mild headache occurs from decreased inhibition of sensory input in the brainstem. Moderate to severe headache occurs from the painful activation of the facial, head, and neck nerves. Cutaneous allodynia (the skin is painfully sensitive to touch) is caused by the nerves becoming hypersensitive. In the resolution phase, the brain processes begin to return to normal. The postdrome phase is caused by some residual neurological dysfunction.

In the case of episodic migraine, the brain function returns to the normal state when the active migraine process is over. In the case of chronic migraine, it does not completely return to normal. The migraine phases may not be fully evident in each migraine and even though the IHS criteria are not met, the migraine process is going on. In other words, at times migraine activity may be manifested as migrainous headache or tension-type headache. Migrainous headache simply refers to the headache meeting most but not all the IHS criteria. Often a migraineur is diagnosed as having migraines and tension-type headache. However, a migraineur really does not have several diagnoses. Each of these types of headaches is caused by the migraine process. In contrast, headaches caused by meningitis, brain hemorrhage, hypertension, temporal arteritis, etc. have a different process of headache production.

The Convergence Hypothesis can be illustrated in the following ways. The migraineur starts experiencing the prodrome phase. He notices a visual aura. He begins to have mild headache, sinus pain, and/or neckache. Then the sensitivity to light, sound, and/or smell is heightened. Nausea and/or vomiting follows. His headache worsens, and he can feel his head throbbing. Movement exacerbates the pain. Wearing his glasses feels very uncomfortable. He is unable to work the next day. The pain starts subsiding. He feels tired and achy. Any or several of the sentences in this paragraph could be omitted, but it is still the same migraine process happening. The migraineur can have aura without headache. The prodrome may be the only manifestation. A tension headache can be noted. Therefore, the Converge Hypothesis considers the variable nature of migraine presentations.

The significance of the Convergence Hypothesis in treating migraines is tremendous. Although the IHS criteria are extremely important for research, it is the Convergence Hypothesis that allows for extended treatment. In the Convergence Hypothesis the impairment in neurological function is more completely judged. By accurately assessing disability from migraine activity, the effectiveness of comprehensive care can be much better evaluated.

Choosing A Good Password For My Ebay Login

A good ebay login password is essential since you are going to be using it often. Most people would breeze through the ebay registration process since ebay makes it so easy to register.

However, you may want to give some thought to your ebay username and password before clicking the sign up button.

Choosing a good ebay password

Lets look at one of the two components of an ebay login process. An ebay password is utmost important as whoever has your password can take full control of your ebay account. They would be able to bid on any auctions, leave feedback and most dangerous of all, access your private data such as your credit card details, address, phone etc.

By observing a few common sense rules, you provide better protection for your ebay password.

Do not use your particulars as your password such as such name, birthday etc. The basic idea is not to make your ebay password too easy to remember

Its a good idea to change your password every couple of months

To not give your ebay password to anyone including your family members

Try to use capital letters and numbers in your password. This makes it difficult for people to guess.

Your ebay User ID

Unfortunately, most of the common ebay usernames have already been taken. Most of the time, you will need to append numbers to your preferred user id. For example john79, charlie024 etc.

Instead of choosing user ID such as john79, you should choose an id that tells other ebayers about yourself, especially if you are selling. Say for example, you plan on selling watches on ebay, then it would be best if you can incorporate watch something in your user id.

I have seen some ebay usernames which are website url. For example **mywebsite.com**. I am not so sure if ebay allows that but it is definitely a good way to promote your own website

If you need to use two words or more in your username, you can use underscore or a hyphen to join them since ebay does not allow empty spaces in username.

You are allowed to change your ebay username once every thirty days so if you do not like your username, you can change it. However I do not advise against it especially for ebay sellers.

You can click the my ebay link. From the my ebay login page, go and click on the preferences tab and click on change my user id link.

The reason is quite simple. After you have been selling on ebay for a while, your customers would recognize you by your ebay id, if you change it, your customers may not trust you or may not know your ebay id has changed.

So you see, before clicking on the signup button, take a while to consider your ebay login password and ID.

The History Of Psychological Research In Reading

As reading involves perceptual and cognitive processes as well as knowledge of language and grammar, these three basic processes have been the subject of experimental research for some time. Such processes include the identification and extraction of meaning, processes involved at sentence/phrase level and the processes involved in understanding thematic structures.

Learning to read in preliterate societies and learning in societies awash with print may have vastly different cognitive consequences. Cognitive psychologists today look at the many facets involved in reading such as reading speed for example. But can one relate any conclusions drawn to the reading speed of an 8-year-old in the early 16th century, whose instruction may have been only in Latin with an 8-year-old today?

The roots of cognitive psychology (the experimental study of how the mind works) can be traced to Wundts interest in memory and language processes in Leipzig in 1879. Shortly after this, there was a spurt of interest in reading processes; this reached an apex around 1908. The equipment used then was somewhat archaic and very dissimilar to the more sophisticated and often computer based equipment of today. This form of research continued for a while until around 1913 when behaviourism became popular. Behaviourists believed that the proper scientific subject matter for psychological investigation should only be observable and measurable behaviour, and since cognitive processes can not be observed and directly measured, with the exception of some educational work there was little work done in this area until the 60s.

The revival of cognitive psychology some 40 years ago brought with it a new format, often expressing theories as flow charts or box and arrow diagrams. This type of expression was more explicit, and highlighted cognition as a series of more describable information processes (that is, a sequence of operations by which representations are formed and transformed). Of course, the use of diagrams was not really new, as the 19th century neurologists interested in the effects of brain damage on cognition (e.g., Wernicke & Lichtheim), used visual box and arrow diagrams. The boxes/centres representing brain regions, and arrows neural pathways. Each of the centres had a particular cognitive function, thus likening diagrams to the organisation of the mind rather than the organisation of the brain.

The combination of this mode of neurology and cognitive psychology led to the development of cognitive neuropsychology. Possibly the first published paper in this field was by Marshall & Newcombe in 1973 who described three types of acquired dyslexia, and offered a reading model in flow chart form to interpret the deficit in terms of damage to specific components of the model. The use of a box and arrow approach has continued in other areas as well as reading.

In contrast there is now substantial support for a connectionist viewpoint (an approach that simulates the connections between information nodes in a hierarchical network that is suggested to be equivalent to connections in the brain; also referred to as parallel distributed processing). From around 1980, computational models of reading were used as a tool for detecting previous ambiguity and vagueness. It is claimed that computer simulation programs can be altered to reflect human subjects performances by cutting connections or adding noise to the models to mimic different types of reading practices. Both approaches have developed impressively but are not perfect.

Sophia Hayes has studied how adults and children read, the processes involved and remediation techniques over several years. http://www.discoverymile.com provides a series of articles on the subject and available resources.Claudette Blog87954

Doodlebops: IXS

Be Ready for getting on the Bus with the Doodlebops, kids' newest music sensation with tons of talent, loads of enthusiasm, and endless energy. If theres a preschooler in your life, you know the Doodlebops, the bubblegum Canadian rockers who star in their own show on Playhouse Disney. As the made-for-TV siblings, played by the bizarrely costumed, brightly colored Lisa Lennox (Deedee), Jonathan Wexler (Moe, who has an obsession with pulling on a suspended rope), and Chad McNamara (Rooney), embark on their first American tour (coming to the Garden on September 30 and October 1)

It is a golden opportunity to join them as they perform their hit songs from their popular TV show on Playhouse Disney in their first ever live U.S. concert tour. Kids will be out of their seats, on their feet with joy as they sing and dance along to their favorite songs from their favorite bandmates; Deedee, Rooney and Moe Doodle. This candy-colored trio is sure to deliver an interactive and unforgettable experience that will be a treat for the whole family.

The World reknowned Disney (http://www.ixs.net/concert-tickets/Children-Family/Disney-Live/index.aspx ) Channel has been hosting a wonderful show, called The Doodelbops, in their Playhouse Disney lineup each Monday through Friday. It has become very much popular in USA and Canada as the Doodlebops have achieved tremendous success in entertaining the preschooler by providing a mix of singing and dancing, rhyming and jokes and even a daily lesson. The Doodlebops are full of color, using face paint and wigs, but they are definitely the hot group in the preschooler set right now! Much like the Wiggles, they have taken over many households temporarily. Having opportunity of entertained by the Doodelhops, It is the guarantee that their Theme song will be on your lips all day long.

The Doodlebops is a musical comedy series for children starring Deedee, Rooney and Moe Doodle. They are the ultimate rock and roll band - at least as far as preschoolers are concerned - and they hang out and practice their song and dance routines in the coolest rehearsal space imaginable. Sort of a cross between PeeWee's Playhouse and The Monkees, the show focuses on music, dance, comedy and pro-social educational issues such as sharing and perspective taking. When The Doodlebops aren't rehearsing, they're zooming off in their tour bus to perform for kids everywhere!

In addition to the lovely colors, the Doodlebops make beautiful music. Each song has a simple lesson, and most are very memorable with catchy tunes. Your child will fall in love. As a parent, you may enjoy listening more than watching, because of the wild dress code the Doodlebops have. Whatever you decide to do, seeing the show once is something every parent needs to experience with his or her child!

Here are some of the lovely and wonderful songs of the Doodlebobs :-

a) Song : I can Dance Sung by Moe

Moe is hiding under a cmbal near his drum set. Rooney has a new invention. Moe is interested in knowing what it is, but they won't tell him because it's a surprise.Jazzmine enters and tells Moe to be himself and wait until the concert. He is unique and should stay that way.

While Rooney and DeeDee go to get juice, Moe cheats and looks at Rooney's invention - a drum machine. Then Moe worries that they are going to replace him. They go to the recording studio and Moe is still very worried. In the studio, Audio Murphy records their new video for 'I Can Dance'.

When the video is done, Bus Driver Bob picks them up. The bus became a stage for the Doodlebops before they took off for the concert, flying high under rocket power. Moe is still very worried.

At the concert hall they finally unveil the surprise. Moe admits he thought they were going to replace him. DeeDee and Rooney are quick to tell Moe that the Mighty Moe Machine was built to help him, so he can dance to his song without having to play the drums.

The following joke was included in this song.

Knock Knock
Who's There?
Luke
Luke who?
Luke out!

At the end, The Doddlebop completed their song with a Lesson that Everyone can use a little help once in a while to make them better. Today, Moe got help from the Mighty Moe Machine.

b) Wobbly Whoopsy is the another lovely amusing song of the Doodlebop.

Today is DeeDee's birthday. Rooney and Moe pretend they forgot, but blindfold DeeDee and decorate the room. For her birthday DeeDee wrote a new song and dance, called Wobbly Whoopsy. She wants Rooney and Moe to dance wearing tutus during the concert. They say no, because it is way to girly.

Rooney bakes a birthday cake; Moe causes him to step on it. This is very frequent this episode, as several cakes are ruined, and several gifts from Rooney are also ruined.

Bus Driver Bob gives DeeDee a small version of the bus, called the Doodlebop Express. At the concert hall,Mazz gives DeeDee a red necklace. Rooney and Moe still have nothing for DeeDee, not even a card.

They decide to give DeeDee a special gift. They will wear the tutus and do her new song and dance.

This Song also contained the following joke.

Knock-Knock
Who's there?
Snow
Snow who?
Snow body but me!

Finally, the Song has a very inspiring lesson , The cost of a gift does not matter; just give from your heart .

3) The Song, Your Not Alone is also wonderful and praiseworthy.

Today Mazz lets Moe know that he will have a solo in today's concert. Moe is very worried about this, and doesn't want to have a solo. He goes into a trance he is so scared, and Rooney and DeeDee actually put him under the rope and for the first time, they tell him to pull it. He does. Then he confesses he is afraid of messing up during his solo.

DeeDee and Rooney spend the afternoon convincing Moe he will do fine, and they will be there to support him.

The following amusing joke can be found in the song.

Knock-Knock
Who's there?
Tank
Tank who?
You're welcome!

This song has the thoughtful and spiriting lesson that You can do anything when you have the support of friends and family.

DeeDee Doodle : Lisa J. Lennox plays DeeDee Doodle, in pink and purple from head to toe she has a very sweet, melodic voice. DeeDee also plays the piano and likes to do magic tricks. She is a kind and helpful girl with a great imagination. She is also very good at writing songs.

Lisa herself is 23 years old and has been performing since her childhood when she was just 3 years old. In the past, Lisa Lennox has performed at the Gemini Awards and she had a small part in the introduction of the television series Road to Avonlea. Lisa is trained in music and dance and went to Etobicoke School of the Arts (ESA) instead of a traditional high school to further her love of the performing arts.

When the Doodlebops were first being filmed to show in Canada, Lisa and the rest of the cast spent 7 months filming scenes for 26 television episodes. She says that being on the Doodlebops is a dream come true, and very exciting. She also says that Jonathan and Chad helped to make the long days more bearable adding that the three of them spent a lot of time laughing which resulted in their close friendship.Lisa has great flair of making people happy, especially the children, and enjoys a lot on being part of the 'ultimate rock and roll band' for preschoolers.

Moe Doodle :Jonathan Wexler plays Moe Doodle, in red and orange he loves to pull the rope, play hide and seek and play the drums. He was a member of the Original Kids Theatre Company in London, Ontario, where he was born, and was in many Grand Theatre Productions. He is mysterious.

Rooney Doodle : Chad McNamara plays Rooney Doodle, who is blue, and he plays the guitar. Chad's previous performing credits include playing a Wrangler in Will Rogers Follies, shown for two weeks in and Ottowa Theater from November 23, to December 3, 1995. He was also part of the cast for Mamma Mia when it toured Canada in 2003. He is a thoughtful and cool doodlebop who is totallly Funky and Spunky. He is very good at inventing things.

Mazz Kim Roberts plays Mazz who plays the Manager for the Doodlebops. She is a known actress s, whose previous credits include guest appearances in Wonderfalls, Tracker, and Twice in a Lifetime and Soul Food.

Bus Driver Bob :John Catucci plays the Bus Driver Bob. who I think personally steals the show. He is an actor who has been performing professionally for 7 years now. While he was a member of Vanier College Productions at York University, John joined David Mesiano to form The Doo Wops, a musical comedy duo. The Doo Wops have won several awards for comedy and in both 2003 and 2004 they were the Canadian Comedy Award winners for the best sketch troupe. In addition to his comedy he has also worked with Jackie Chan on The Tuxedo, and ABC movie called Kiss My Act, and many Canadian television shows.

Home Safety for Toddlers and Small Children

Home Safety for Toddlers and Small Children

If you have toddlers in your home, then safety is obviously a big concern. They are big enough and mobile enough to go just about anywhere but they little to no understanding of how dangerous some things might be. So, you know that you need to toddler-proof your home but how do you go about it?

A great place to start is by placing baby gates at the top and bottom of the stair case to prevent injuries. Be sure that you purchase a gate that is sturdy and can be easily fastened to the wall, railing or some other solid surface on or near the stairs. Even with a baby gate, never leave a toddler unattended near the stairs.

Next on the list to put child safety latches on all cupboard and cabinet doors the child could possibly reach. Remember, toddlers can climb! Pa extra attention the cabinets under the kitchen or bathroom sink or anyplace you store medicine, cleaning supplies, garden chemicals or poisons. In the garage or storage shed, store all weed killers and chemicals in a locked cabinet and place the key in a location where your child cannot find it.

When it comes to toddler safety, prevention is the best method. Store your childs books and toys at their level so they do not have to climb to get to their favorite game or stuffed animal. If your child has a lamp, fan or other electrical appliance in his/her room, tuck cords safely behind furniture so the child cannot pull anything down on himself.

Avoid choking hazards by keeping young children away from small objects, pieces of toys, and small pieces of board games. Read manufacturer instructions for all toys and follow their guidelines. Buy only those toys and games that are appropriate for a child of a particular age. Place plastic safety plugs in electrical outlets so the child cannot stick his fingers in the outlet.

One aspect of home safety that is often overlooked is mildew and mold. Mildew and mold can cause serious illness and injury in adults and toddlers alike. Mold or mildew can be the cause of allergies and asthma in small children. Install a dehumidifier in any damp areas to mitigate the moisture in the air.

A Contract Set in Stone

The law on obligations and contracts is simple. It states that once all the essential and formal requisites of a contract have been complied with, then such agreement or covenant is considered as law between the parties. Further, no signatory to such a pact may be absolved from the performance of his or her obligation unless the interest of justice and fair play requires.

To put it more blatantly, a contract is an agreement entered into by two or more parties having the ample personality, capacity, and eligibility to contract. Thus, upon finding that the subject of such agreement is well within the confines set forth by our laws, and public policy, then any provision, obligation, or duty incumbent upon any party to perform must be complied with in good faith. If a partys act runs counter to any of said lawful provision, then a cause of action for breach of contract is available to the other party.

Breach of Contract is a serious malfeasance; it is as though not complying with a rule of law set forth, the only difference is that it is a law brought about by the agreement of the parties and the one that governs only parties thereto. Notwithstanding the same, non-compliance of any provision thereof would actually lead to causes of action ranging from restitution and reparation to payment of damages caused by non-performance.

The rule on proximity of contracts has been applied in breach of contract cases to the letter. This doctrine provides that only those who are signatories to a contract and their successors in interest are liable for any penalty brought about by the non-performance of the obligation. Consequently, the proximity of contracts also provides that only a signatory to the contract or any successor in interest have the ample right to file any claim against another party for non-compliance of his or her obligation. Any third party, who would like his or her right be promote cannot act on the basis of a contract to which he or she is not a party. His or her remedy lies on some other provision of law but not the contract for which he or she was in no way part.

Breach of Contract has several repercussions. Not only would the person be liable civilly for all the damages brought about by non-performance of an obligation, this may also lead to some other effects to include, rescission of the contract, restitution of what has been given by the party who complied with his obligation, or both, and in the said instance damages would also concur.

Career Fairs Best Serve Everyone But the Jobless

Reading my Sunday newspaper yesterday reminded me of how Career Fairs do little to substantially increase local employment. It seems that no one is willing to say this, and a lot fewer are even willing to believe it, but I know it to be all but a fact.

After spending 20+ years in the news business, and another 20+ years as a personal marketing specialist helping potential hires by writing upscale resumes, I can relate my experience with authority.

You might think that after helping 5,300+ clients get on with moving on and moving up in their careers that I could produce at least one client who has benefited from attending a Career Fair. I can not. This is why I caution any client who gets all excited and goosey about attending Career Fairs. I do not want their disappointment to affect my marketing plan to help them achieve their goals.

In revealing this apparent incongruity for the first time publicly, it is important to note that I am in the high end of the resume writing business. Virtually 97% of my 5,300+ clients during my 20-plus-year career are executives, professionals and managers earning between $40,000 and $350,00 annually who are already in management, want to be in management, or in sales and/or marketing.

Career fairs are all about first jobs and entry level career jobs that do not pay all that well, so they do little for folks who have already been in the marketplace, enjoyed some success, and want to keep moving up the corporate ladder, or any other ladder of their choice.

This makes a lot of sense when you examine who is involved in putting on Career Fairs, and what they expect to get for their investment. I am not talking about the potential hires, or anyone looking for a job or a better opportunity.

I am talking about businesses and organizations, large facility managers, and big advertising media, usually the dominant daily newspaper in the community. Nothing meets their profit needs, their publicity needs, and their public service needs like Career Fairs. It has become almost a rite of passage for these special interest groups in our society.

Let us start with businesses and organizations. Should you stroll down to a Career Fair in your community, and talk to a business representative at a snappy booth display, you will quickly pick up on the fact that the well dressed person is not the person you expected.

You knew going there that if Microsoft was a participant Bill Gates would probably not be there, but you secretly hoped he would. Later you came to realize that the person a major corporation sends to represent them at these Career Fairs is usually the most expendable person available.

This is why they smile a lot, take your resume (sometimes they do not), and tell you very little about what the company is really doing. Major companies that are cooking the books (using unacceptable accounting practices to inflate revenue and profits in order to increase stock prices so executives suck money out faster), and in worse shape than they want their stockholders and the public to know, would be at a Career Fair putting on their best face.

Just being at a Career Fair is good business for businesses and organizations because it gives the impression that those involved are key players in building the community, increasing employment, and acting like a good corporate citizen.

If you think large facility managers do not like Career Fairs you would be sadly mistaken. The same managers who hosted last week's rock concert du jour are more than happy to move the rockers out and the new vendors in.

Facility managers do not give the space away as a public service, and they do take care of the "job" exhibitors. Whether any potential candidate attending the Career Fair ultimately gets hired is none of their business.

Newspapers and related media (usually radio which needs public service announcements to stay licensed) love Career Fairs. The Internet has been gaining the advertising and profits that newspapers have been losing. Newspapers have been forced to create web sites and compete on the Internet whether they want to or not.

Career Fairs give newspapers extra ads and profit regardless of the economy. Newspapers generally run a special section advertising the Career Fair as it gives paying advertisers and the event itself more exposure and prominence. Newspapers also feel a need to serve the community that supports them, whether people get hired at these Career Fairs or not.

You are seeing more and more and more Career Fairs (or Job Fairs) because it is good business for three very big special interest groups who may be more like a three-legged stood than a helping hand. You could hold Career Fairs for the unemployed every other week in Flint, Michigan and it still would not affect their depressed economy; I suspect that the same is true in many other communities across the country.

When your government tells you employment is on the rise, public officials are counting on the fact that when an unemployed person's compensation benefits run out, they drop off of the rolls and remain unaccounted for even though they are still unemployed.

The salient point here is this: It is likely that when people benefit from these Career Fairs it is more by accident than design; the unemployed in our economy are the true story worth telling.

How To Have An Enjoyable Boating Vacation

A boating vacation should be a vacation that everyone will have fun at. If you are taking the kids you need to make sure that they don't get bored and that you have a nice and relaxing time as well. This may sound hard to do but when you are going on a boating vacation it is actually quite easy. There are so many different things to do on your boating vacation that everyone will be able to get what they need out of their vacation with ease.

The first thing that you need to do is decide what kind of boating vacation you want to take. There are a few different kinds. You can rent a charter boat for your boating vacation for one. This kind of boating vacation will come with a boat and a crew and will provide you with all of the fun in the sun that you need for your boating holiday.

When you go on this kind of boating vacation you will be able to get the best fishing, sight seeing and diving just to name a few of the fun things that you can do on your boating holiday. And when you choose to rent a boat with a crew they will be able to take you to all of the top places for diving and sightseeing because they know them. It is like having on board tour guides! This makes for a fun and easy boating vacation that everyone will talk about forever.

Another popular form of boating vacation is to hire a boat and take you and your family out alone. This is something that is only for people who know how to drive a boat and who have the experience to back them up. If you have shown the boating company that you know what you are doing and that you will be able to take care of the boat on the water then they will rent you the boat for the boating vacation without a crew. Your family will in essence become this crew.

This is a great boating vacation because it gives you and your family time away from the hustle and bustle of work and friends, time that you can spend together bonding. Your whole family can get to know one another again and enjoy each others company without any distractions at all. It is shocking to realize how different everyone can feel after this type of boating holiday. The world feels so much better when you know you can truly get away from it all from time to time on a boating holiday.

This kind of boating vacation is also going to save you an extraordinary amount of money. You will find that the price of renting a boat with no crew for this kind of boating vacation is a fraction of the price you would pay for it to have a crew on board. This is the most fantastic option when it comes to your boating holiday.

Car Travel with Pets

You really need to wear heavy leather gloves (the kind that go up to your shoulder) if you are going to try to get my cat Eddie into the Mini-Van, but many pets love to drive, almost more than their owners. While I've only had to take Eddie for a ride a few times, he has taught us a great deal about what can happen to the inside of a car, with a pet.

Pets are a joy to have with us, but they do have special needs to help them stay comfortable and us happy.

Pet Hair

Hair is the hardest item to clean off upholstery and carpeting. Trying to vacuum it up is a waste of time for the most part. The fibers weave into the carpeting and fabrics of our car, and grip.

What gets hair off the carpet and fabrics fast and easy is rubber or latex gloves. There is a product out there called the Pet Sponge, which works great too, but it is really made from the same substance. Just put on a glove, get it a little damp and run your hand across the pet hair area. Your glove will fill with pet hair, effortlessly. Rinse off, and go in for another swipe.

You might consider getting a Pet Pad for your traveling pet.

Heat

If you are traveling with a pet, get a sun shield. Seriously. I know we sell them, and this looks like a great place to put an ad, but the facts are, cars heat up way too fast, and much hotter than we realize.

From a cool just-air-conditioned state, it takes a car less than 20 minutes to reach 120 degrees sitting in the sun, even with the window 'cracked' open for fresh air. In summer times, or hot days, the interior can reach 150 degrees in the same amount of time.

Well made, reflective sun shields can reduce your car's temperature by 50 degrees. Leaving the window 'cracked' is still a good idea, but keeping the interior heat level down is much better.

Urine

Don't ask.

Getting the Urine out of the interior carpeting is a bit of a chore. Start with baking soda. Just pour it on dry and let it sit over night. Vacuum and repeat, letting the baking soda sit again. Vacuum up the last layer and then pour into the affected area Hydrogen peroxide. Let this evaporate, and then vacuum.

This won't remove any stain or discoloration, but it will get the odor out and neutralize the urine itself. From this point you can use a carpet or upholstery cleaner to remove any stain that might remain.

Comfort

Keeping pets comfortable and safe inside the vehicle is sometimes a creative challenge. We do have several car accessories for pets which can help you with some of the details.

Cargo Area Travel Liner: This is full comfort. The padded liner is cushioned and slip resistant, and allows your pet full access to the cargo area of your min-van. The liner is water resistant and tear resistant. Your pet can walk around on the textured fabric without slipping and sliding. The rear of your vehicle can get warm, so the fabric is breathable to keep your pet comfortable in any season.

Seat Covers: Same idea as the cargo liner, just a smaller space. The fabric and comfort are the same, and so is the ease of cleaning and the protection provided to your interior.

Pet Barriers: These barriers limit your pets movement, and with many pets this is a good idea. It also adds to their safety.

With pet barriers, windows can also be let down a little more, providing cooler conditions when you have to leave your pet in the vehicle while traveling. (it is still a very good idea to also use the sun shield I talked about earlier).

Organizer: Pets need stuff! Feeding dishes, snacks, leashes, collars, scoopers, and so much more. Pets need a lot of stuff, and keeping it organized is a good thing when traveling with your four legged partner. Leashes get tangled and "lost" quickly. Having a place to store these required items, for easy access, allows you more fun and less hassle.

4 Things To Consider When Applying To College

When applying for college, do you only think about what you're going to do when you get there? Or do you think about what the college is going to do for you? Applying for college isn't just about fun and games, it's about picking the right college; the college that will help you succeed. So the next time you sit down to fill out those college applications, keep these four tips in mind:

1. Goals.

How often have you heard friends wish theyd gone to a different college? A college that was more suited to their interests and dreams and not their checkbook? A big mistake is to assume that every college has what youre looking for. Take the time to research the colleges youre interested in and rank them by academics: courses, degrees, accreditations, and the ability to transfer and further your education.

2. Interests.

As much you want an education, if its not fun and exciting, youre sure to stop attending classes. So the next thing on your list to rank is interests: what are the teachers like? Do they make class fun and interesting or do they simply read from a list of notes in a monotone voice?

3. Extra-curricular Activities.

Lets face it, no college would be complete without fraternities, sporting events, clubs, and so forth. But what you need to keep in mind is how these events and clubs will benefit you in the future. Will they look good on your resume? Will they provide additional skills? Or are they simply a fun way to get distracted?

4. Financing.

No matter what your list says, the final ranking truly does come down to finances. If you dont have the funds to attend college, youll need scholarships, grants, and student loans. Make sure your college admissions officer understands how these programs work so that you get the best deal possible.

The Dukes Of Hazzard (Season 1) DVD Review

In the late 70's and early 80's, television viewers fell in love with The Dukes of Hazzard, a weekly foray into the fictional setting of Hazzard County, Georgia. Cousins Bo and Luke Duke (John Schneider and Tom Wopat) spent each episode trying to do good, while the loveable Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) concocted various schemes for making money and having the Duke boys, who always foiled his plans, thrown in jail for violating their probation (the result of a deal with the federal government to end the centuries-old Duke family tradition of bootlegging).

Joining Bo and Luke are their Uncle Jesse (Denver Pyle), a grandfatherly figure who owns the family farm, and Cousin Daisy (Catherine Bach), whose skimpy shorts coined the cultural term daisy dukes. Along with Crazy Cooter (Ben Jones), the local mechanic, they create a formidable threat to the money-making shenanigans of Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane (James Best) and the owner of seemingly every business entity in Hazzard County, J.D. Boss Hogg. But critics will argue that the true star of the show was the General Lee, Bo and Lukes bright orange Dodge race car with the Confederate flag pasted on its roof

The Dukes of Hazzard DVD offers a number of famous episodes, including the series premiere One-Armed Bandits, source of the video clips that would appear in the opening sequence of the show for much of its duration. Other notable episodes include High Octane in which Jesse Duke outsmarts Boss and Roscoe in his quest to win the governments alternative fuel contest, and Route 7-11 in which Bo and Luke unwittingly become part of an illegal gambling ring until Jesse comes to save the day. Also included on the first season Dukes of Hazzard DVD are The 20th Anniversary Hazzard County Barbecue documentary including John Schneider and Catherine Bach, Dukes Driving 101: A High-Octane Salute including interviews with professional racecar drivers, and The Dukes of Hazzard: Return of the General Lee video game preview

Choosing Your HDTV Television

To take full advantage of the great number of HDTV stations you can get with your satellite system, you will want a television with a breathtaking picture and mind blowing sound. When shopping for a television today, you have many more options than just a few years ago. From several hundred dollars, to a price similar to that of a new Corvette, you can choose the television to fit your budget and lifestyle.

If you want to watch satellite programming you will need a tv that is at least HDTV ready. Your satellite service provider will supply you with an HDTV tuner. Even if you will not be watching much HDTV programming, there is still a huge benefit to watching a digital television. All HDTV and HDTV ready tv's contain upconversion circuitry that cleans up the picture with even non HDTV signals.

If you watch a lot of movies or dvd's, you might want to purchase a widescreen television. A widescreen tv has a 16:9 aspect ratio screen, as opposed to the traditional television screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio. You can enjoy watching movies on a screen shaped like a movie theater screen, and view non digital programming in a side cropped view, or stretch the picture to varying degrees to fill the screen. All HDTV programming uses the 16:9 aspect ratio.

The least expensive option is the good old fashioned CRT (cathode ray tube) television. It has been around since 1927, and it is the least expensive option. It is built around a single picture tube, and provides excellent contrast and overall picture quality. A higher end picture tube television will actually give a smoother appearance of motion than a flat-panel tv. The primary drawbacks of tube tv's are their immense weight (compared to newer technology), and the considerable depth of the sets themselves, both severely limiting your installation choices. Also, the largest tube television available is 36", so if you need a larger picture, you might want to step up to flat-panel television.

LCD and Plasma screens are the two options available in flat-panel televisions. Both are incredibly thin and lightweight, and can be wall mounted if you choose to do so. An LCD (liquid crystal display) contains thousands of crystals sandwiched between two glass or plastic plates, which are acted upon by electrical current, creating images on the screen. A plasma screen consists of thousands of pixel cells filled with gases that excite phosphors, producing light, and thereby your picture.

The weight of an LCD and a plasma tv are comparable, with the LCD models being slightly lighter in the 40" range. As the screen size approaches 60", the weight of the LCD overtakes that of the plasma screen. The display panel tends to last longer with the LCD than with the plasma models. LCD televisions are not vulnerable to burn-in, also known as image shadowing or ghosting, like plasma screens. Burn-in is essentially burned, or worn out pixels in a plasma screen that have been damaged over a period of time and retain color information from static images like network logos, etc... Plasma tv's tend to have more accurate color reproduction than LCD models, and are currently less expensive than a comparable LCD. While the largest LCD tv at this writing is 65", that is likely to change quickly as the technology evolves with the latest innovations in the computer monitor industry. The largest plasma screen television currently produced is the Panasonic TH-103PZ600U103", which boasts a massive 103" screen, and is expected to carry a whopping retail price of about $70,000 when is hits US markets in late 2006.

Remember the old, bulky rear-projection televisions that were almost a yard deep and weighed nearly as much as a VW Bug? Todays digital big screen tv's take up much less space, and a 60" television can weigh under 100 lbs. Digital big screens are capable of brightness that is unmatched by the older CRT televisions, and do not suffer burn-in like the plasma tv's. These digital big-screens also contains a consumer replaceable lamp that restores picture quality to its original brilliance. Prices for these sets are very reasonable, usually one half to two thirds the price of a similar sized plasma or LCD television. One disadvantage of the big screen tv's is still size; even with technological advancements, these models take more room for installation than the flat screen televisions, and are not practical for wall mounting. The ideal viewing angle is only achieved straight on, and in a seated position.

For a true movie theater experience at home, a front projection tv may be a good choice. This is a two piece system consisting of a projector and a screen. They offer picture sizes up to 300", and do not include any type of tv tuner, instead displaying signals from a satellite receiver or cable box. The best viewing experience with a front projection setup requires a fairly dark environment, and is definitely not for everyone. However, for cinema lovers, there is no better way to bring your favorite film to life. Pricing for good projectors starts at just under $1000, and screen prices vary according to size, with most models falling somewhere between $300 and $1500.

Whether you watch mainly sporting events, movies, or dvd's, a modern television can give new life to your favorite programming. As technology advances at an astonishing pace, prices for larger and more sophisticated television sets continue to come down. If you do some shopping online and find that you can't quite afford the tv that you want, save money for five to six months; no matter how much or how little you are able to save, chances are you will be able to afford the set you want as prices come down. Just don't blow the money you have saved - you might need to build a new room to house the larger set you will be buying in two years.

New York Foreclosure Listings: The Best Deals Out There

If theres one location in the country that is always in demand for a wide range of different kinds of real estate, its New York. And buying the best properties in this great state can be incredibly simple and affordable when you learn to buy them through New York foreclosure listings. New York state has it all, from picturesque rural areas in the north, to the one and only Big Apple in the south. No matter what kind of home youre looking for or for what reason, youll find it here. New York City is one of the few places in the country where real estate is constantly in extremely high demand. Over the past decade alone, the city and its boroughs have seen incredible development and growth, driving up property values all over. Investing in an apartment, home or business property here would be an extraordinary opportunity, because the chance for appreciation in value and profits on sales in the future is practically guaranteed. If youre looking for a place to live for you or your family, you cant beat the cultural and economic resources New York has to offer. If youre looking for something a little slower paced, scenic Westchester County is home to beautiful suburban towns within short distances of the city, making it handy for commuters. Further north and west, Buffalo, Binghamton and the capital city of Albany are all great places to raise a family, and truly offer some gems when it comes to great real estate. New York also has more than its share of beautiful rural scenery and vacation spots, from the rugged terrain of the Finger Lakes and Catskill Mountain regions to the resort town of Saratoga Springs. New York foreclosure listings offer the buyer the chance to buy great homes in all of these incredible locations, but for way below their actual market value!

Buying New York real estate foreclosures is the perfect chance to make a great real estate investment even more valuable. Since these unique properties are being sold by mortgage lenders as a means of collecting the debt owed by a defaulted homeowner, its often possible to find huge discounts when they are sold through auctions and other public sales. Since a lender only needs to sell a defaulted home for a portion of its actual value in order to collect enough to cover their losses, they will often allow for these properties to be undersold simply to encourage a sale. In fact, most investors and homebuyers using New York foreclosure listings to find homes end up savings anywhere from 10 to 50% off market price when they buy! This means an incredible chance for savings for new homeowners, and an even greater margin for profits if youre a real estate investor! New York real estate foreclosures allow you to jump into the market in a great position, so that you can get the most out of your purchase.

Foreclosure Investing is one of the smartest ways to buy real estate these days, and best of all anyone can learn how to do it. While some are turned off prematurely by the idea of handling a sale without an agent, as long as you know how to find the kinds of homes you want, buying is a cinch. Try starting with a foreclosure list to get a good idea of everything thats available locally in the area that interests you. Using listings gives you the opportunity to view homes before visiting them, so you can focus on the right properties from the start. Learn more today and buy your next property through New York foreclosure listings!

Aliens: Where SETI Astronomers Can Find Them

SETI, or Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, has been an ongoing endeavor for many decades. In the early days, it was expected to be quick success, so much so that national governments even helped fund these projects. Like the Moon race, there was something of a "find E.T." race. All that is gone now. Government funding has virtually evaporated around the globe. The explanation is simple: no one likes a perpetual failure. The few remaining SETI efforts have to count on private funding to scrape along. Well, the objective of this article is to come to the rescue of the last of the SETI astronomers, to tell them where they can find E.T. so that they can regain the world's respect.

That last sentence was not meant to be cynical. As noted in my article "Decoding Book Resurrects the Ancient Astronaut Theme," author Morten St. George claims that some of the prophecies of Nostradamus are of alien origin, and that those prophecies tell us how to calculate the galactic coordinates of where E.T. came from. In a follow-up interview, I posed the following question to St. George: Do you agree that contact with intelligent aliens could be of immense importance to humankind? He agreed. Then I asked: Do you agree that this is more important than your selling a few copies of your cryptic thinking book? He agreed. This article will be a little longer and a little more technical than the others.

According to St. George, three prophetic stanzas combine to provide information about E.T.'s location. The first of these is stanza number I-81. Here, the first four words of the fourth verse are the most relevant: "Kappa, Thita, Lambda, mors." St. George says he has an etymological dictionary that defines "mors" as the "bite of a scorpion." Consequently, Kappa, Theta, and Lambda are the names of three stars in the tail section of the constellation Scorpius. (Note that the use of Greek letters for star names postdates Nostradamus). It's a star arrow, and Lambda is the arrow head. Elsewhere, the prophecies name three cities to form an arrow circling around the globe; thus, St. George believes the three stars should be viewed as points on a sphere.

Where does the star arrow point? St. George says he followed the star arrow upwards on a star map and it hit or passed close to a dark cloud called Barnard 72, for which he already had other indications. So that's the answer. E.T. came from or near Barnard 72. But we're not done yet. We're looking for precise coordinates.

The second stanza is numbered IV-32. According to St. George's decoding, this stanza tells a story: Once upon a time, Triton, Pluto, and Charon formed a triple planet system with a distinct orbit around the Sun. Then one day, the aliens came along, grabbed hold of Triton, and pushed it into a retrograde orbit around the planet Neptune. In route to Neptune, Pluto and Charon hung on for a while, then broke loose and drifted off into a new orbit. When did this happen? St. George says the aliens were here in 580 A.D., so that would be his guess for the date of these planet manipulations.

I mentioned that I had read on the Internet that Pluto has been downgraded, that it is no longer considered a planet. St. George responded: "I believe that was because they found that Pluto didn't clear away debris in its orbit. But since 580 A.D., a contemporary date in terms of solar system history, Pluto in its new orbit would have made only a handful of complete orbits around the Sun, hardly enough time to clear away much debris. In any case, the astronomers got it all wrong. What they should really be looking for is Triton's original orbit, a cleared-out orbit with no planet in it. And I doubt that we're talking about an orbit at the outer edges of the solar system. Triton's original orbit may have been closer to the Sun than Neptune. They need to figure out where Triton could have been in 580 A.D., then they will know where to look for that orbit."

Why did the aliens move Triton? A display of power? St. George remarked that the star arrow only provides longitudinal coordinates. We also need to know the latitude . The planets have to be in the right position at the right time. And the three stars too, for that matter.

The last stanza of the three stanzas is numbered IV-33. It begins: Jupiter closer to Venus than to the Moon, appearing in full whiteness. According to St. George, Earth and Jupiter would have to be pretty much on opposite sides of the Sun for this to be true, and the full Moon (more likely seen from the Alien Planet than from Earth) serves as a timer. The alignment is Alien Planet, Sun, Moon.

The next line of IV-33 goes: Venus hidden under the whiteness Neptune (discovered more than two hundred years after the death of Nostradamus). Note that there's no "of" between whiteness and Neptune. Meanwhile, the French words following "hidden" (used elsewhere in the prophecies to cryptic ends), "soUS la bANcheUR," allows the extraction of "Uranus." Thus, the whiteness (partial rather than full) is Uranus, not Neptune, and we have a second alignment: Alien Planet, Uranus, Venus.

IV-33 has one more line: From Mars struck through the white granary. Since Neptune was left hanging at the end of the preceding line, it should come into play here, meaning Neptune from Mars struck through the white granary. According to St. George, the "white granary" refers to a star cluster called the Pleiades, which happens to lie at the opposite side of the sky from Barnard 72. Until recently, St. George thought the planetary arrow to Barnard 72 commenced with Mars, so he not yet had a chance to check out if a Mars, Neptune, Pleiades alignment, or a Pleiades, Mars, Neptune alignment, is even feasible.

Overall, there are only a limited number of possibilities. IV-33 gives us two inner planets, Venus and Mars, and two outer planets, Uranus and Neptune. Mars lines up with Neptune to hit the Pleiades, and Venus lines up with Uranus to hit the Alien Planet. Depending upon the Pleiades direction, Uranus and Neptune need to be together on the same side of the solar system or on directly opposing ends of the solar system. Also remember to check that you're viewing a full Moon from the Alien Planet, and that Jupiter is closer to Venus than the Moon at the same time. When? The skies and planets are in constant motion. In what year does all this happen?

St. George is convinced that the date of the given configuration should somehow or somewhere be provided in the prophecies. Other than the stanza number, 433, we have 580, 700, 703, 882, 883, 1204, 1559, 1571, 1607, 1609, 1649, 1666, 1689, 1690, 1700, 1727, 1781, 1813, 1832, 1858, 1859, 1861, 1928, 1952, 1955, 1979, 1982, 1999, 2001, and 2006. The years 1571, 1607, 1781, 1859, and 1982 were astronomy related. St. George suspects one of the later years is more likely mainly because astronomers may not have accurate data the position of the outer planets in earlier times. "We have to assume that they want us to get it right, and precision is clearly required here."

2006? What happened in 2006? St. George replied: "Absolutely nothing. 2006 was a second, inferable date in a London catastrophe stanza. The date does not necessarily have to come from an astronomy stanza. It can be provided elsewhere."

Please excuse the digression. My final question was: Do you realistically expect SETI astronomers to take you up on this coordinate stuff? St. George responded: "Yes. It would be foolish of them not to. The way they're going now, their odds of finding E.T. are not even one in a billion. If my theories merely reduce the odds to one in a thousand, their chances improve immensely. Moreover, I think they've forgotten; SETI was originally based on the premise that there are lots of intelligent civilizations out there, which in turn implies that at least one of them should have succeeded in exploring the entire galaxy by now."

So there you have it, SETI astronomers, go forth and become famous, work out the coordinates, point your radio telescope there, and tell the world you heard from E.T.!

You can find bathroom accessories in dainty lavender flowers on pristine white ceramic. You can find bathroom accessories in lavender wicker with chrome, brass, or bronze bases.

As you seek out bathroom accessories in lavender, you will want to ask yourself several questions. These will help you zero in on what you really want before you begin shopping.

1. Color: There are many shades of lavender. Visit a paint store and find the shade you wish to feature. Are you looking for lavender blue or lavender green? You may remember the old lullaby lyrics that begin with the words, "Lavender's blue, dilly dilly, lavender's green. When you are king, dilly dilly, I shall be queen." You may want to copy out the lyrics and frame them for your bathroom wall. Set a theme with them, and combine bathroom accessories in lavender blues and lavender greens.

2. Style: Do you want bathroom accessories in lavender flowers, or in abstract swirls? Do you prefer simple, clean lines, or more ornate designs? Do you enjoy retro purple lavender or watery, pearl lavender?

Think about the color of your walls and floor before you make decisions on your bathroom accessories. Remember the secret to ideal color combinations: the 60-30-10 rule. Use about 60 percent of one dominant color in your bath decor. Use 30 percent of a lesser color. Use only 10 percent of your accent color.

In this case, lavender bathroom accessories will probably comprise your ten percent of accent color. The lavender should go well with the dominant and lesser colors on walls, floors, and fixtures.

Bathroom Accessories in Lavender Flowers

If you prefer flowers, you might want to look for lavender/purple flowers such as the following on bathroom accessories.

1. Lavender itself flowers from the herb
2. Lavender iris
3. Lavender and yellow pansies
4. Lavender wisteria
5. Lavender lupine

Other Bathroom Accessories in Lavender

Lavender bathroom accessories are available in more than just flowers.

Dragonflies are often depicted in lavender on shower curtains, toothbrush holders, soap dishes, dispensers, and other bathroom accessories.

Whimsical cherubs in lavender, gold, and white are featured in some bathroom accessories. In others, these colors appear on the gossamer gowns and wings of woodland fairies.

Plain lavender bathroom accessories are readily available. The color and style are simple and cooling. They blend well with most bath decors.

Towels and rugs in lavender should match or closely complement the hues used in your other bathroom accessories.

Budget Bathroom Accessories in Lavender

Your budget will go further if you shop garage sales and thrift stores for bathroom accessories in lavender shades. You might want to be creative by selecting objects such as a lavender tumbler or simple vase for a toothbrush holder. Add a lavender dessert dish to hold your soap.

Helpful Tip

Astrology's Capricorn Lucky Days; Horoscope modifiers from Numerology

People born in the days from December 22nd through January 20th, have the Astrology sun sign of Capricorn the Goat. As a Capricorn, you probably know your basic Horoscope, but did you know there are over seventy days every year that are lucky for you, just because of your sun sign? Just what are Capricorn's lucky days?

===> Your Birth Date

In Numerology, your birth date is always a lucky day for you. So, you should add your birth date to the list of lucky days below. As an example, actor Orlando Bloom was born on January 13th, 1977, so he needs to add January 13th to his list of lucky days for 2008.

===> Universal Days

Days on which the Universal day number matches your Life Path number are also lucky for you. The universe supports your actions on these particular days. You calculate your Life Path by summing all the digits of your birth date, and then reducing by fadic addition. Orlando Bloom's Life Path number is a two as shown below:

Life Path = (01 + 13 + 1977) = (1991) = (20) = (2).

Now, as an example, December 8th, 2007 will be a lucky day for Orlando Bloom . The Universal Day number will be a two, matching his Life Path number.

Universal Day (12/08/2007) = (12 + 8 + 2007) = (2027) = (11) = (2).

Doing this calculation for each day is tedious; but, you can pre-calculate the year and month sum, (12 + 2007) = (3), and then just add this value to the day number, and sum the result. (3 + 8) = (11) = (2).

===> Capricorn Calendar Dates

Six days of each month are particularly lucky for Capricorns. They are as follows:

For January: 2nd, 7th, 8th, 18th, 26th, and the 31st.

For February: 3rd, 7th, 9th, 12th, 13th, and the 27th.

For March: 1st, 5th, 7th, 10th, 24th, and the 28th.

For April: 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 16th, 25th, and the 26th.

For May: 5th, 6th, 14th, 15th, 27th, and the 31st.

For June: 1st, 14th, 15th, 18th, 24th, and the 29th.

For July: 9th, 12th, 13th, 17th, 20th, and the 27th.

For August: 3rd, 8th, 9th, 16th, 21st, and the 31st.

For September: 5th, 9th, 14th, 18th, 19th, and the 27th.

For October: 10th, 11th, 16th, 17th, 25th, and the 30th.

For November: 6th, 7th, 8th, 12th, 13th, and the 26th.

For December: 3rd, 8th, 9th, 19th, 24th, and the 31st.

Camcorder Rental - Inexpensive Film Making To Preserve Your Memories

Ownership of camcorder or digital video is certainly a significant issue these days, particularly those whose hobbies are to spend a large amount of their time outside the home. In addition to just going out, numerous people are also interested in special occasions that are indoors such as dinners and parties.

But not every one of them has the means to afford camcorders for these occasions. One of the most significant points is that a camcorder by itself may cost more than the entire value of the party. The reason that camcorder rentals has become a very popular way of getting to use one is because it is without the high expense of having to buy one.

Depending on your perspective a camcorder rental is the same as owning one, except for the fact that it's a short period of time. The majority of the time, numerous different camcorders, from the low-end ones to the midrange and high end high definition ones are available for rent at all rental stores. Indeed, the majority of the high-end advanced camcorders are much cheaper than what they would cost to purchase, for let's say one or two days on a special occasion.

Special Packages

There are many stores, both online and around the country that offer smaller packages that have better quality camcorder rental services at a very reasonable price. And these packages come with various added accessories and equipment to be used together with the camcorder as well, such as the tripod, railings, lighting set and much more.

Going through online rental stores, there are many types of packages depending on the type of occasion and so on. Holidays are a very popular time to rent a camcorder and most of the time, camcorder rental services are more expensive during the Christmas and New Years holidays and usually you have to book them in advance.

To avoid disappointment, you should call and check again as the event or the day comes near. This applies especially if your occasion falls on the public holidays or seasonal holidays.

Renting a camcorder is indeed a very simple thing to do. One of the reasons that this service is so popular is due to the fact that it's very cost effective. It is an easy task to find many different rental outlets or service centers in the yellow pages or online through the various search engines such as Google and Yahoo.

There are also several online auction, bidding and bargain sites which also have a category for camcorder rental services. Additionally, if you schedule a service early through these sites, at various times they may have seasonal discounts or weekend rentals, so now you have the ability to make use of the camcorder rental at the most affordable cost for you.

Why is DVD so popular?

Digital video recording is a recording format that involves the use of digital bits to represent a sound wave or image sequence so that the storage thereof can be immaculate and without loss of any quality over the duration of its journey from the video source to the ultimate destination, the viewer or the recording device, or without loss of quality due to the gradual deterioration of the recording medium. The purpose is to replace analog recording technology, as this is inferior due to the abovementioned natural traits of analog recording. The signal and recording thereof is far too susceptible to the damage due to time and distance.

The first Digital Video Recording format was the Sony D1 format, which utilizes a standard definition component video signal and does not compress that signal. This format was integrated in 1983. This format was known to be highly expensive though and was not commonly used among the public, but generally, use was confined to large television companies. This was due to this fact that the recording format was duly replaced by a much less exorbitant system that made use of data compression. Sony Betacam was a prominent one, and is still utilized very much in todays advanced industry. 1990 was the birth of quicktime in its basic rough form, a product from Apple Computers that helped greatly in making the advantage of digital recording available to the larger consumer element of the public. The span of 15 years has seen drastic positive advancements in the field of digital recording as the introduction of mpeg 1 and mpeg 2 data formats, which were apparently developed for use in television signal transmitting and also in DVD recording media, made the quality that the average pc user could dabble with far greater. When DV format was brought about, it made editing a walk in the park compared to the lengthy process before, as cutting up and reordering streams of tape into desirable segments was replaced by on screen programs that could suspend digital representations on the pc screen of the video data, turning the average user into a video wizard.

Digital audio technology has been developing for a longer period of time than that of digital video. The abundant usage of digital technology is due to the great benefits it offers to mass production and easy quick editing of sound and music. Digital data compression formats are put into use here probably for the simple reason that the human system of sound processing when it comes to music and television is not precise. One does not sit and process each and every individual piece of sound that runs along simultaneously through a song or TV program or news broadcast. The human mind has a clever way of simplifying its task by focusing on symbolic entities such as a word or a familiar instrument or what have you. It listens to the sound as a whole, and interprets it at its own pace rather than doing it linearly. This is probably why music can be so enjoyable, because we pick up new elements to a piece of music every separate time we listen to it. Conclusively, it is for this reason that sound can be recorded in digital, and it only appears to enhance the listening experience.

Are You Looking For Original and Authentic Sports Memorabilia

McFarlanes have been manufacturing action figures since the mid-nineties and have gained a worldwide reputation for their excellent sculpting, paintwork and detail.

Until 2001 they solely dealt with movie and fantasy related figures as well as some comic book figures.

The companys founder, Todd McFarlane, is also the creator of the Spawn comic book character and so much of the companies initial products were based on the comic book characters and licenses they held as well as acquire licenses for other movie and comic book characters such as Freddy Krueger, Austin Powers and Chucky.

Despite this, or as well as this, it was really only a matter of time before the company would venture into the sports collectibles market as Todd McFarlane was already an established and well known collector of sports memorabilia.

And so after many months of painstaking negotiations McFarlanes finally announced that their inaugural set of Sports Picks figures would be released in 2001.

This inaugural set of figures was for 6 NHL figures. Many fans, and collectors, were skeptical as to whether McFarlanes could produce figures of the standard that fans would expect and demand at a reasonable price and in the standard 6 inch size.

But once fans and collectors saw the excellent quality of the sculpting and paintwork as well as care and attention to detail, including all the relevant logos and emblems on their kits, as well as other minute details they quickly became prized possessions for both fans and collectors.

The choice of hockey for their first series of Sports Picks figures was highly influenced by Todd McFarlane who is not only a huge hockey fan but also part owner of the Edmonton Oilers hockey team.

After the huge success of these, McFarlanes managed to negotiate contracts for the remaining North American sports with its pinnacle being the announcement in Feb 2002 at the American International Toy Fair in New York that they would be producing Major League Baseball figures.

This announcement heralded a great personal triumph for Todd McFarlane as it gave him his fourth license in a top North American sport, after clinching contracts with the NFL, NBA and NHL.

Since their initial release back in 2001 McFarlanes Sports Picks figures have gained a huge following with both collectors and fans due to their excellent detail and sculpting and as a result they have become the benchmark by which others are measured.

McFarlanes have lovingly and carefully recreated some of Americas greatest sports personalities, including the likes of David Ortiz and Barry Bonds in the MLB, Wayne Gretzky and

Each of the individual lines also includes several different series general consisting of:

* A regular series- these are the regularly released figures, i.e. Series 1-19

* Legends- generally veteran players who have either retired or have been voted into the Hall of Fame

* Collectors Edition- Specially released and limited edition figures generally only sold through the Online Collectors Club

* Exclusives- These figure are generally event, stadium or exhibition exclusives only available at these specific places for a limited period or exclusive to a distributor or retailer such as Diamond Comics or Wal-Mart.

As a one time player and lifelong collector of sport memorabilia this has given Todd McFarlane the opportunity to use his companys vast talents to produce figures that would be truly representative of the players and that fans, collectors and the player would be proud of.

Each 6 inch figure comes in its own classic McFarlanes Sports Picks clamshell packaging, accessories and apparel and a custom base for its display.

Lines currently available in the McFarlanes Sports Picks series are:

* NBA Basketball
* NHL & NHPLA Hockey
* MLB Baseball
* NFL American Football

So, if youre into sports and look for something other than cards to collect then these is probably just what youre looking for.

Barbecue an American Tradition

Barbecue is as American as apple pie. It's aroma evokes memories of baseball games, swimming and family vacations. Mouths water when the grill is fired up. Preparing meat for the barbecue is just as important as the cooking itself. Marinating infuses flavor into the meat, ensuring a delicious family meal that will not be easily forgotten.

Marinating is the process of steeping meat in a mixture of an acid (i.e. vinegar, lemon juice, or wine) and spices (i.e. salt, pepper, and herbs.) The acid tenderizes the meat causing it to hold more liquid, making it juicier and more flavorful. Care must be taken when making the marinade, as too much acid will toughen the meat. When marinating poultry, poke holes in the meat with a fork, or use a needle injector. Removing the skin allows the marinade to fully penetrate the meat. (Leaving the skin on compromises the flavor.) Poultry can be refrigerated in a covered container for up to 2 days in a marinade. (Meat should always be covered in the refrigerator.) The time for marinating depends on the size of the pieces as well as the kind of meat. Chicken breast takes longer than steak because it is firmer. To reduce the amount of time needed for marinating cut the meat into smaller pieces. You can also pound chicken flat to cut time.

There are a variety of containers appropriate for marinating. Metal, plastic, and glass bowls all work. My favorite containers, however, are plastic bags. When a bag is used a smaller amount of marinade is needed because the air can be squeezed out. The meat is covered completely which allows for the flavors to be infused more quickly and evenly. Plus, the bag can be tossed when the job is done, making clean-up fast and easy.

There are a few safety tips to remember when marinating poultry, meat and seafood. Raw meat and fish contain juices which may harbor harmful bacteria. To avoid contamination never reuse a marinade. Do not reuse containers without carefully washing them with dish soap. Dont marinate meat past the grocers "use-by" date. And finally, always marinate in the refrigerator--never at room temperature.

Italian Chicken Marinade Place 2 lbs. sliced chicken in a plastic bag. Add 8 oz. Italian dressing, the juice of 1 fresh lemon, a few turns of fresh pepper, and a little salt. Marinate a few hours in the refrigerator. Remove from the bag and place on a heated grill. During the last few minutes of grill time, lay thin slices of lemon over the chicken. Serve the grilled chicken with a small amount of the unused Italian dressing.
